We read it.
The whole thing, by the editor who will work on it. Ten working days later you receive the reading report.
We decide together.
If the report recommends a package and you agree, we send the contract and a calendar with dates. Half the price is paid at signing, half when you approve the final proofs.
We edit.
In Complete, two rounds of developmental editing with a written letter after each. In every package, a full copyedit and a proofread by a second pair of eyes. You see every change and you have the last word on your own sentences.
We make the book.
Cover, interior, ebook. You approve each one. We check the printed proof in our hands before anything goes on sale.
We publish.
ISBNs, copyright, Amazon, Ingram, metadata, your page in our catalog. Then the launch: the funnel if you have Complete, the guide in any case. Sales reports arrive to you directly from the platforms, in accounts that are yours.
What we check
Nonfiction makes claims. We ask where each one comes from. Studies get a citation with a permanent identifier (a DOI), statistics get a source and a date, and quotations get a page. If a claim cannot be supported, we say so and help you rewrite it or cut it. This is not a formality: it is the difference between a book a reader can trust and one they cannot.
What we do not publish
Books whose central claims cannot be supported. Medical or psychological advice presented as treatment. Anything esoteric: energies, chakras, crystals, cleansings and the like. Content that attacks people. Work we are not competent to judge; if your book is about tax law or fly fishing, we will tell you and point you elsewhere.
The contract, in plain words
It is a service agreement, not a publishing contract. You hire us to do work on your book. You do not assign us any rights. We get a non-exclusive permission to show your cover and title in our catalog and promotion, and to list the book under our ISBNs. You can end the relationship after publication and take the files. Governed by the laws of Texas. Four pages. Read it before you pay.
